      1:32 Someone please explain. I thought no-one was out on that play.

        @UG Visions Cool, thanks bud.

        UG Visions  10 hours back

        dave474c the fielder let the ball bounce which means the runners had to run, if he would’ve caught it then the runners stay on their bag, there was a runner on 1st and 2nd and he acted like he was gonna catch it but he didn’t, the runners came back to their bags because they thought he was going to catch it and when he let it drop they had to advance and it became a force play so it was an easy out

      Good and smart aren't the same. Now if there was just 1,000,000 IQ editing so we could see any of the plays in context.

        Baseball is the only sport where the highly trained professional athlete makes the proper play and all of a sudden it is a "smart" play

          Dropping an infield fly doesn't need 1,000,000 IQ. So glad for the infield fly rule. Doing that was rediculous.

                Isn't there an "infield fly rule" that would have called the batters out instead of causing double plays? Or is this a new rule?

                • CollegeTimeWith Brad
                  CollegeTimeWith Brad  3 days back

                  Chuck Klosterman an infield fly is only in effect when there is less than 2 outs with a runner on first and second (and third sometimes). The rule is not in effect when only a runner on first as it’s seen as a 1 for 1 situation. Assuming the batter hustles then there is only 1 out either way. But batters don’t run causing this to be a double play ball

                A few exceptional plays in there. Most were just what you're SUPPOSED to do in baseball. Normal plays given the opportunity. Nothing impressive. Nice try though.

                  Definitely need to show the full clip of Cain directing Yelich back to second and running back to first himself so both runners were safe. The glimpse in this video doesn't do it any justice. I was at the game when it happened and I was stunned. Such a heads up play from a great player.

                            So the runner can't tag - dead ball on a foul, but a catch can be tagged on no matter where the ball was.

                            There was a runner on 3rd base each time and if they would have caught the ball, the runner would be able to run home.

                            It's only an infield fly rule when the umpires call it. A lot of these were so quick the umps didn't have time to react.

                          I used to fake catch a lot and catch people off guard all the time while playing second base in high school and they used to try and get the refs to stop me from doing it all the time which was annoying as fuck. If I’m not making any fake tag or getting directly in front of players interrupting them then they couldn’t stop me from doing it. It was the best shit ever. The coaches on the other teams would get so pissed at me and cuss me out cuz their players were getting caught out all the time. Funny shit, man

                                                        Michael G I’m not saying it isn’t an easy catch but in some cases even if the fly rule was called, that play would for sure be easier to make off of a one hop due to the laws of physics allow him to easily pop up and be alert after the one hop versus momentum making his glove hit the ground with a catch of it coming out.

                                                          Can someone explain to me, at 0:35 why the pitcher throw the ball with his glove? When he can just turn the ball. I don't really understand the rules

                                                          3:14 isn't the fielder obstructing the runner's basepath right there? It's smart to deke the tag for sure, but he's for sure just blocking him from running period.
