- As one of the founders of Uncle Tupelo, Jeff Tweedy helped jumpstart the alt-country movement in the early 1990s. But in Wilco – the band that rose from Uncle Tupelo’s ashes – the singer-songwriter set his sights on more ambitious musical adventures. Explore Yankee Hotel Foxtrot in this episode of Liner Notes.

Please make a master playlist of liner notes
I was working at Tower Records when I got "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" as a promo CD. I had loved "Being There."
When I heard "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" for the first time, it blew my mind. But it can take some listens to grasp.
Prefer AGIB.
My favorite part of YHF is how in Reservations you can hear the piano bench creak as he leans forward and back with every chord. At least that's what it sounds like to me.
Can we get one on Return to Cookie Mountain by TV on the Radio?
Understanding Ryan Adam’s Heartbreaker!!
I was 1 day old when this album came out
They all look the same.Snagle teeth white boys.
Best album of that decade.
Kid a, is this it, Marshall mathers lp?
okrajoe kid a tho
I go to Jeff Tweedy's high school, that's my claim to fame. Belleville West Highschool. My Dad went to school with him, along with my principle.
An album that’s been very tough to top since its release.
Whats that last song in the credits?
Fabian Salomonsson Kamera
Definite top 10 album of all time.
RIP guy who overdosed and died and thus Wilco died with him.
Sparks' Kimono My House or The Kinks Village Green Preservation Society!
One of the best and one of my favorite albums of all time. It's hard to put into words how much Yankee Hotel Foxtrot means to me. It's a very cathartic album to listen to in many ways, and usually brings tears. They've many amazing albums, but this album is on another level entirely. A modern masterpiece. Wilco will love you, baby.
Like a girl once told me, this album is pure poetry.
I need Remain in light, or fear of music but surely will be the first.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor's LYSFLATH would be nice. Linernotes is one of my favourite formats on YouTube
One of my favorite records of all time.
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot & A Ghost Is Born are outstanding albums by Chicago's own.
Weezer's self-titled next time?
Do Bloc Party's "Silent Alarm" next!
Alright, Pitchfork! Now do Sky Blue Sky!....oh, wait
Broken Social Scene You Forgot it in People

Greatness!
"rose from Uncle Tupelo’s ashes" That fucking hackneyed cliché again?

JESUS DONT CRY YOU CAN RELY ON ME HONEY
palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
"Lift your skinny fists..." next?
totally!
The very definition of an album that creeps onto you, quietly, until you realise you can't live without it.
Also I didn't know until now that Jim O'Rourke had a hand in producing the album. This is a revelation to me.
Demon days and doolittle
do ST ANGER
Fuck yes dad rock
Never met a dad that listened to this album lmao
I think they had fathers 15 years ago
Because of Boyhood?
this came out 15 years ago. There are few dads that old yet
You have autism if you think YHF is dadrock
you should do queens of the stone age next. any album their all classics
I don’t think they’re influential enough to be considered for this series. Obviously they’re still one of the greatest bands still touring today, but they haven’t sparked an uprising of their style of music like these artists have.
Greatest album of all time
Talking Heads-Remain in Light next please
I´m agree with you
hammerman2006 I'd love to see this one!
